You’ve Got an Idea…We’ll Run with It

Rickshaw Studios thrives when engaged in creative projects that challenge us to rethink that which is taken for granted.

Halloween Mad House

Halloween Mad House is an annual sponsored event executed by Rickshaw Studios that sees the Madison Avenue Pub transform into an all-encompassing haunted house party experience, drawing thousands from across the Toronto area. Rickshaw Studios engaged The Madison’s unique architecture with massive Halloween audio-visual installations, and recruited unique performance talent including a tarot card reader, a fire breather, and one of Toronto’s top tattoo artists to apply real tattoos on-site.

Craft Beer Market Keg Wraps

As the Craft Beer Market restaurant chain spreads across Canada, Rickshaw Studios has played a key roll in its expansion into Ontario. As the restaurant’s key vendor for decorative wrapped kegs, Rickshaw Studios has wrapped hundreds of 58L kegs for display in Craft’s Ottawa and Toronto locations. This level of production required careful organization and constant communication with both restaurant management and the many breweries involved.

Niki Ashton NDP Leadership Campaign

In the 2017 NDP Leadership Race, Niki Ashton ran on a platform of equality, environmental responsibility, and justice. Rickshaw Studios assisted Ashton’s campaign team, overseeing the production of her campaign print and promotional materials, while also taking the lead in establishing her campaign website’s brand and identity. Rickshaw Studios remained available at all hours during Ashton’s four month campaign, building her website’s content as she took position on issues that emerged during the race.

Sir Wilfred Laurier University Overseas Recruitment

Working closely with overseas partners, Rickshaw Studios designed a Mandarin language recruitment booklet for Laurier University that was not only translated with fidelity, but adhered to nuances in tone, dialect, and formatting. The end result: A recruitment resource that truly conveyed Laurier’s strengths as a destination to students abroad. Additional projects included designing and printing recruitment resources in Japanese, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Famiglia Baldassarre Mural

Inspired by a suggestion made by his kid nephew, Toronto pasta chef Leandro Baldassarre approached Rickshaw Studios with the idea of covering one of his walls with children praying to a pasta noodle. We got to work and came up with a design that not only hangs over scores of eager pasta diners each day, but also adorns a best-selling t-shirt in the Baldassarre merch shop.

Travel Alberta Rickshaw Campaign

When Travel Alberta learned that many tourists who came to visit originated from Ottawa, it set out to target as many Ottawans as it could with its famous “Remember to Breath” campaign. Working with acclaimed Canadian marketing firm Venture Communications, Travel Alberta partnered with Rickshaw Studios to bring exciting visions of dinosaur bones, chuckwagons, and other Albertan iconography to the streets of Ottawa, using our fleet of rickshaws as a medium.

Two Spirits, One Voice

Two Spirits, One Voice was an initiative lead by Egale Canada Human Rights Trust that sought to bolster supports for persons that identify both as LGBTQ+ and Indigenous. Rickshaw Studios was brought on board to collaborate on Two Spirits, One Voice, developing the project’s brand identity, graphic assets, and print material. As part of the initiative, Rickshaw Studios traveled to several communities in Northern Ontario to construct a 20-minute documentary elaborating on Two Spirit perspectives and traditions.
